One of Hollywood’s crucial collections is on the open market…the Oscar statues of Hollywood’s Golden Age.
The Academy Awards for Best Photography at the 1930 Academy Awards will be held at RR Public Sales …This is the best bidder to win the Oscars.
The golden statue was submitted to Clyde and the others won His work in the 1928 film “The White Shadows in the South China Sea”.
This movie starring Monte Blue and Raquel Torresit was groundbreaking… This is MGM’s first sound film – allowing dramatists to listen to the roar of MGM lions at major times – it was filmed in Tahiti.
Seeing the Oscars in the market and is rare… The Academy established a rule in 1951 to prevent the Academy winner from promoting its statues, first offering the statues to the Academy again for $1… However, it only applies to statues awarded after 1950, so the Oscar will receive one.
The Academy Awards ceremony was the second annual Academy Awards… held on April 3, 1930 in Los Angeles’ trendy ambassador Rocky… The main ceremony was broadcast on the radio as a public occasion.
The plaque of the award contains details about the award… The bottom reads: “School of Sports Arts and Sciences, No. 1 Award in 1929.”
The award has a golden disc on the bottom, claiming… “Ampas, 1929, the Academy’s first prize, was awarded to Clyde de Vinna for outstanding achievements in the photography of white shadows in the South China Sea.”
RR Public Sale tells us that the supplier is a non-public collector and needs to keep the nameless price…the current bid is over $70,000, and the public sale of homes is estimated to be successful bids for over $150,000.
The bid ends on April 9.
