Order to pay $1 billion for sexual harassment accusers

New York jury simply awarded $1.68 billion to 40 girls accusing directors James Toback Sexual assault, psychological abuse, false imprisonment and coercion.
Cash is broken down like this… $280 million in compensatory damages and $1.4 billion in punitive damages.
Toback was sued by dozens of women in December 2022, claiming he forced them to attend what they believed was a job interview…just for a meeting that was allegedly to flip the sex.
The director was charged in October 2017 with more than 30 girls accused of decades of sexual harassment…These allegations are essentially related to the allegations against Harvey Weinstein.
The lawsuit was tried this month, but Toke does not appear to be in court. He reportedly tried to dismiss the last 12 months of the case, but after a decision to reject his request, he left again and did not attend a New York jury trial. His absence led to a partial default judgment.
When the charges first surfaced, Toback denied them…claimed that they never met the ladies, or just met them temporarily. He also suggested that he was medically powerless in the occasion in Los Angeles, citing diabetes and coronary psychological conditions.
