When Priyanka Chopra was a youngster, her mother submitted her to the Miss India pageant committee. Priyanka isn't a big fan of “soft focus shots,” but apparently impressed the judges enough that she or he was invited to compete. She eventually had a successful full competition and has since gone on to win Miss World in 2000. It helped launch a profitable career in Bollywood rather than her American film trade. As for her approach to beauty pageants now, Priyanka says she can still help them – as long as girls understand it's not their choice of achievement.
“I really feel like in an advanced world where we are right now, as long as a woman understands that this is not [her] Total choice. Then choose to do so. Who is working for her? ” she told Indian Vogue. “But when girls are made to really feel like their only option for success is to be objectified or thought to be really stupid… that's not right. “

Instructed by a partner to enter a scholarship pageant in the hope of winning the cash prize for success, Eva agreed – and eventually succeeded. She then entered subsequent competitors and eventually became Miss Corpus Christi 1998. Since she got it, she entered the professional game, which ultimately became her ticket to Hollywood.
“But part of my prize package deal for Miss Corpus Christi was a visit to Los Angeles. And, I just thought, 'Oh, that would be fun,'” she said in an interview with the academy. “I didn't think, 'I'm going to be an act[ress]… Once I got into the expertise competition, I got the pieces. And, all these managers and agents wanted to send a signal to me. That was 1998, like Ricky [Martin] manic, J-lo Manic. And, being Latino in the second deal has opened all kinds of doors. ”

Vanessa Williams Her grand pageant career began on a whim. Despite finding herself in musical theater at Syracuse College, she was discovered by a beauty scout and settled for getting in so she might win scholarship cash. On her first and only pageant tour, she eventually became successful as Miss Syracuse, then Miss New York, and eventually became the first black girl to win Miss America in 1983.
“I was simply having a great time there. I actually didn't think I was going to win because I didn't think it was time. There was absolutely not a black Miss America, so why not do it?” In that case, maybe, I knew I had something to spend on it, but I didn't think they were going to really make an effort,” Vanessa said.
